AstroDay
Saturday, November 8th
10 am to 3 pm
Location: in front of the stores
Join us for AstroDay this Saturday, Nov 8th from 10am-3pm for an exciting day of astronomy, robotics, and natural sciences.
Meet scientists and educators, explore Hawai`i's new and amazing contributions to astronomy, and enjoy engaging science demonstrations and activities by the Maunakea Observatories and other organizations.
Don’t miss HVERI’s “Elephant Toothpaste” demo — a bubbly, volcano-inspired eruption that shows how gas builds up under pressure. Catch this exciting science experiment at the center stage near Jean’s Warehouse!
Free giveaways while supplies last and the UH Institute for Astronomy will have a solar telescope on site to safely view the surface of the sun.
Special grand prizes will include two beginner-level telescopes and two NASA-themed skateboards. No purchase is necessary, but you do need to be present to win.
Location
AstroDay festivities will take place throughout Kona Commons, right in front of the stores.
